Seed Money Grants
The goal of the Seed Money Grants is to strengthen or initiate scientific exchange between researchers from Switzerland, Iran and South Asia in all disciplines by enabling them to jointly undertake preliminary research and may enable them to organize meetings, conferences or workshops.
Seed Money Grants are particularly useful to develop joint project proposals to be submitted to large funding agencies or to combine already existing and independently funded projects in Switzerland and the partner countries in order to create long lasting cooperation.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate that the project will be sustainable by gaining access to external funding when the grant period comes to an end.
.Therefore, the Leading House opens the call, inviting scholars to propose mono- or interdisciplinary research projects in above mentioned countries, involving bilateral or multilateral partnerships.

Deadline: 31 July 2018

Bridging grants build on existing collaboration projects between Swiss researchers and scientists from research institutes or universities from the partner countries. Bridging grants can fund the preparation of a joint project proposal for submission to large funding agencies or to develop established and long-term partnerships between two institutions or chairs. Activities to intensify joint teaching or curriculum development are also covered by the bridging grants.
Swiss researchers who have already successfully completed a project with a partner in South Asia or Iran will be offered to continue joint research in order to prepare a grant application for a full joint research project (e.g. through the Swiss National Science Foundation, EU funding or a national or regional funding body).
Bridging grants may also enable the intensification of joint teaching or curriculum development.

Mobility grants
Mobility grants enable the young generation of scientists (i.e. those with a Master’s degree but no PhD yet and with not more than 6 years of professional research experience) to integrate in international collaboration. They help to build up new partnerships through personal contacts and thereby make such partnerships more sustainable.
Mobility grants are aimed at attracting young talent to Switzerland, and they encourage Swiss researchers to enhance their careers by spending time in an academic environment abroad.
